LASSELSBERGER Group opens the tile factory in Ufa, Russia

“LASSELSBERGER” Group, one of the major players at the international ceramics, raw materials and building materials market, opens the largest tile factory in Europe. The factory is located close to Ufa, Russia and this location has not been chosen randomly. “LASSELSBERGER” is a customer-oriented company with production units located in the Eastern and Central Europe. Production locations enable the company to satisfy specific customers’ needs at every local market. Detailed demand analysis of every region gives an insight of the local needs, while production units close at hand allow for manufacturing the sufficient amount of necessary goods and deliver them to end users in the shortest time possible without unnecessary transportation and customs clearing expenses. And the company actually saves time and money through this. In its quest for new markets, the company turned to Russia and particularly to Bashkortostan, which is one of its most developed regions. The tile factory in Russia has been built very quickly. It took only two years for this giant to grow up in the vicinity of Ufa, the capital of Bashkortostan. The floor space of the factory amounts to 70 thousand square meters and very soon its production capacity will reach 5 million square meters of tiles per year. And in a couple of years it will rise up to 20 million square meters of tiles per year.
Local and federal public authorities have always been particularly interested in the project, starting from the foundation stone ceremony, and throughout the construction stage and start-up of the production line. The technical start-up of the first production line on February 6, 2009 didn’t pass unnoticed by the government either. A delegation of high-profile government representatives visited the factory on that day. The guests saw the process equipment supplied by “Sacmi”, which is second-to-none in Russia, asked questions about the process flow, plans for the future and market prospects of the company. Mr. Karl Steinberger, General Manager of the factory in Ufa, made a tour for the guests and invited everyone to attend the official opening ceremony, which would take place in September this year. During the official opening ceremony everybody will have a chance to see the factory products in specially-designed show-rooms built at its premises. More than 400 skilled and trained people work hard to make it happen in time. Production staff receives training at the existing production units of “LASSELSBERGER” Group in Europe.
Skilled personnel, high-quality equipment, unique recipes, huge sales market and assistance of the government agencies leave no doubt that the company will start making profit in the nearest future and will eventually grow into the market leader.
